Apriva’s Robert Martin To Discuss Emerging Technology at Prepaid Press Expo 2013

Session Will Examine the Potential Impact on Open- and Closed-loop Prepaid Offerings

Scottsdale, AZ, August 6, 2013—Apriva, the leading provider of end-to-end wireless transactions, gateway services, and secure information solutions, announced that Robert Martin, the company’s senior vice president for attended merchant solutions, will participate in a panel session at the Prepaid Expo 2013 at the Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas. The event is scheduled for August 12-14, with the panel session “NFC, EMV, Coming ASAP” scheduled for 10:30 am on August 13.

Designed to promote the convergence of disparate prepaid products and services, Prepaid Expo 2013 brings together thought leaders, providers, customers and influencers in the gift card, calling card and wireless communications sectors. The event is managed by Prepaid Press, one of the industry’s foremost publications.

In the panel session, Mr. Martin will discuss how the emergence of new technologies like EMV and NFC can potentially impact the prepaid market. Among the subjects that he plans to touch on include the compliance requirements of both open-loop and closed-loop prepaid systems with regard to the EMV authentication standard, as well as the potential ramifications of NFC.

“The introduction of new innovations like EMV and NFC has ignited a great deal of questions and confusion on the part of technology vendors, merchant services providers and merchants, particularly in the prepaid space,” said Stacey Finley Tappin, Apriva’s vice president for sales and marketing. “We are delighted that Rob Martin has been invited to speak at Prepaid Expo 2013, and help the audience fully understand the potential implications of these technologies.”
