Parking Payment Solution – City of Sacramento

In 2015, the City of Sacramento’s Department of Public Works, Parking Services Division partnered with Amano McGann, the leading provider of Parking Access and Revenue Control Systems (PARCS) in North America, to begin modernizing the City’s five downtown parking facilities. With a new arena under construction—slated to be the home of the City’s professional basketball team, the Sacramento Kings—the parking facilities needed an upgrade to enhance convenience for a growing customer base. The next-generation products Amano McGann offers effectively manage parking operations and monitor their parking facilities.

“The goal of the City’s parking division is to effectively manage the City’s parking supply, especially during a time of increased activity,” said Matt Eierman, City of Sacramento Parking Manager. “The new technology will enhance the parking experience for businesses, residents and visitors.”

Amano McGann’s cloud-based software solution, Symphony Analytics™, will enable the City of Sacramento to improve parking operation management through revenue and operational on-demand reporting. The new system will allow patrons to see where parking is available, pay in advance, and enter and exit the garages with almost no delay—enhancing the patron’s overall experience when visiting these parking facilities. Amano McGann’s solution includes the full suite of semi-integrated payment services Apriva is able to offer with Amano McGann’s OPUSeries system.

In the initial rollout, the City of Sacramento is using more than 30 automated exit payment devices, plus a handheld mobile payment solution for special event parking.

“We are gearing for growth,” said Mike King, Parking Technology & Infrastructure Manager for the City of Sacramento, Parking Services Division. “The solution Amano McGann and Apriva have delivered brings us the security and flexibility we need to support Sacramento’s drivers today and into the future.”
