Apriva Reaches New Milestone with Solution Eligibility for Classified Government Data Projects

Payments and Secure Communications Pioneer Enables Mobile Business for Organizations of All Types with Industry Recognized Solutions

Scottsdale, Ariz. October, 28 2014 — Apriva, the leading provider of secure end-to-end wireless transaction and information solutions, today announced a new milestone for the company with its Apriva MESA VPN Gateway being added to the National Security Agency/Central Security Service’s (NSA/CSS) Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Approved Products List. This distinction indicates that the Apriva VPN Gateway underwent a thorough government review and has met the stringent security and management requirements as set forth by the CSfC program applicable protection profiles, which sets the Apriva VPN Gateway apart from other wireless VPN solutions in the market today. Apriva has been focused on enabling mobile business for organizations of all types since its inception in 1999, and the Company’s secure information and transaction solutions are relied upon for a wide-spectrum of mobile use cases. These range from securing classified government data and voice communications, to enabling secure, efficient payments for merchants and financial institutions of all sizes, including three of the nation’s top five banks.

“Back in 1999, we opened up a standard BlackBerry device with the idea that it could do more than simply send emails and provide a contact list–and it could. We introduced the idea of taking credit card transactions on those devices in 1999,” said Chris Spinella, chief executive officer at Apriva. “Since that time, we’ve maintained a keen focus on mobile innovation – understanding that by enabling organizations to go mobile, you’re allowing them to build better businesses. The federal government is no different and we see our CSfC listing as another important Company milestone.”

According to a recent survey by GlobalWorkplaceAnalytics.com, federal employees working at least half of their time remotely have grown more than 421 percent since 2005, making it increasingly important that government agencies have secure, efficient ways for enabling mobile communications. The Apriva VPN is an essential component in Apriva’s secure mobile gateway product offering and plays a critical role in the United States Department of Defense’s (DoD) classified mobility rollout.

Since 2002, we have worked closely with the intelligence community as well as uniformed and civilian agencies such as the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to break through technology barriers so classified voice and data communications can remain secure,” continued Spinella. “We will continue to work closely with government agencies, merchant acquirers, financial institutions and other enterprise organizations to find new use cases for secure communication and transaction technologies and change how mobile business is done.”

The Apriva VPN Gateway, when coupled with the Apriva Command and Control Suite (CCS), offers organizations a powerful, secure mobility gateway that provides essential monitoring, reporting, administrative functionality and other capabilities required in sensitive network settings. The CSfC listing allows the Apriva VPN Gateway to be used as part of a composed layered solution enabling the protection of classified voice and data communications for those government agencies who require secure communications based on commercial standards. Apriva’s VPN Gateway is the cornerstone of the Apriva Mobile Environment Security Architecture (MESA), which enables organizations to leverage commercial products and protocols for the protection of national security information.
