Scottsdale, AZ January 27, 2010—Apriva, the leading wireless transactions and secure information solutions provider, announced that Guilherme Blumenthal and Brady Barnes have joined the senior management staff of its Point of Sale (POS) division. Blumenthal will serve as General Manager of International Sales and Business Development, while Barnes has been named Vice President of Engineering.

A recognized leader in the payments industry, Blumenthal served as Executive Vice President for Global Sales and Operations at Hypercom. In this role, he continued to grow Hypercom’s market share and revenue in a number of markets, including leadership positions in Brazil and other regions within Latin America. Guilherme has also held the position of Executive Vice-President and COO at Cielo (former VisaNet) in Brazil.
“Guilherme is an expert in ‘C-level’ negotiation and sales,” noted Coppinger. “His talents and experience will provide immense value, particularly since Apriva sees international expansion as a primary growth opportunity.”
As Vice President of Engineering, Barnes will oversee the development of advanced POS solutions that address the evolving security and business demands of financial institutions, merchants, and channel partners. Barnes joins Apriva after spending some 20 years in management roles of increasing responsibility at Inter-Tel, and its successor Mitel, where he eventually served as Vice President of Engineering.
“Brady is a hands-on engineer who has brought both software and hardware products from concept to production,” said Coppinger. “He also has proven his ability to lead large engineering and development teams in his years at Inter-Tel and Mitel.
