Paul Coppinger

President

Paul has more than 20 years of management experience and has pioneered the development and delivery of sophisticated software applications in more than 30 different industry sectors. His areas of expertise include e-commerce, wireless communications, encryption/security and voice-over-Internet. Paul was also a Co-founder of Zanova, Inc., a B2B e-commerce company acquired by Onvia in July 2000. Likewise, he was a co-founder of NetSearch, LLC, a wireless application company acquired by Aether Systems in April 2000. Paul earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Arizona State University. 

Rinaldo Spinella

Executive Vice President and General Manager for Unattended Payments

Rinaldo is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and expansion of Apriva's Unattended Payments division. He brings more than 38 years of experience in the development of hardware and software products and services in the technology industry. Upon graduating from MIT, Rinaldo accepted an engineering role at Diano Corporation, an Analytical Instrumentation Company specializing in X-ray Fluorescence and Diffraction Instruments. After a few years, he took a leave of absence to return to MIT for an MBA. Returning to Diano Corporation, he eventually rose to the level of President, a position he held for a number of years. Rinaldo was also a co-founder of Smart Technologies, Inc. which later merged with Apriva. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT and a Master of Science Degree in Management from MIT’s Sloan School.

Kathy Claypatch

Chief Information Officer 

Kathy is responsible for leading the strategic and operational management of information technology and the Apriva POS customer support center. Kathy has more than 20 years of leadership experience in IT in addition to the retail and resort industries. Prior to joining Apriva, Kathy served as Vice President of Information Technology for TSYS Acquiring Solutions. She has both large enterprise and small start-up company experience, which helped her pioneer new business and computing solutions at the University of Phoenix Online, Jamcracker, Iridium Satellite, Marriott and The Pointe. In 2006, Kathy was chosen by her peers for the prestigious Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders award.

Len Sutton

Vice President Risk Management

Len is responsible for Apriva's compliance implementation, validation and auditing as well as business continuity plans and enhancements for the company's IT infrastructure. Len has more than 25 years experience in managing successful, large-scale initiatives in the credit card and payment services sector. Prior to joining Apriva, Len served as VP of Information Security and Compliance for Global Payments, Inc. Len holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Florida State University, and he is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Robert Martin

Senior Vice President and General Manager of Core Solutions

Robert is responsible for product management of core payment systems, project management, and quality assurance. He has 20 years experience in management, software development, quality assurance and production software product support. Robert previously held the position of Vice President of Global Terminal Software at Hypercom and was responsible for all software development on Hypercom’s terminal products. Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physics from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Science Degree and Ph.D. in Physics from The College of William and Mary and an MBA from W.P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University.

Brady Barnes

Senior Vice President of Engineering

Brady had nearly 30 years of engineering experience with Hewlett-Packard, Inter-Tel, and most recently, Mitel prior to joining Apriva POS. The majority of that time has been spent in the telecom industry, where Brady’s career spanned multiple disciplines including software development, hardware development, and digital signal processing. Brady has spent the last 13 years in senior level management positions as either director or VP in a variety of areas including Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), training, technical support, and software development.  Brady has published numerous technical articles, conference papers, and design ideas in industry-related publications.  Brady has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University.

Stacey Finley Tappin

Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Stacey manages sales and marketing and is responsible for increasing company sales and profit growth from both new and existing customers and developing new channels of business revenue from the expansion of wireless payment technology. In 1991, Stacey began her career in the payments industry with MasterCard Worldwide where she held various positions in the organization in her twelve year tenure. In 2004, she accepted an Executive Account Manager position with TSYS Acquiring Solutions. She was appointed Vice President of Sales and was responsible for generating over $60 million in revenues from new business. Stacey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate Communications from Lindenwood University and is an active member of the W.Net and the ETA Membership Committees.

Bill Ramsey

Vice President and General Manager of AprivaPay

Working with Apriva over two different periods since 2000, Bill helped launch the company’s very first product, Apriva POS, and now manages the AprivaPay line of mobile payment solutions for smartphones, mobile handhelds and tablets. Prior to rejoining Apriva in 2008, Bill co-founded Leadbot.com, a financial services lead generation and marketing firm, and served as its CTO for six years. He also spent four years with Winstar Communications/GoodNet in a variety of roles, ending as Senior Manager New Product Strategy for their broadband services division. Bill earned an MBA, with distinction, from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
